Our Media Project: Welcome!

Hello!

First of all, thank you for taking the time to check out our little project on Buddhism here in Thailand. Here is a little background on this particular media project made by Zach, Cisco, and me :)

We arrived here approximately two months ago, and here we are stunted by the fact that in two days we will be on our way to Cambodia. I could not be more devastated to leave Thailand, the Land of Smiles and the most generous people I have ever met. Nestled in the mountains of northern Thailand, Zach, Cisco, and I all shared one thing: a strong urge to explore and experience as much Buddhist culture as possible. In a country that is over 95% Buddhist, it felt so special to learn more about Thai culture and Buddhism simply through submersion. When brainstorming this project, the three of us knew that no matter what our product may be, we want to just get out and explore the different aspects of the Buddhist lifestyle. We wanted to visit all the temples, meet with different monks, and see this religion function in its natural habitat. All of that was accomplished. Living with Buddhist host families also allowed for more questions to be asked and conversations to be sparked on any given day.

One question that really guided us through this project is: How does Buddhism affect the way people interact with themselves and their surrounding? Keeping this thought in mind, we each explored different topics that we individually gravitated towards. On this blog, you will find a couple different posts from each of us regarding the topics that we found most relevant or interesting to us. We also have a gallery of photos taken during some of our explorations across this beautiful country. Thank you for taking time to check out some of our findings!

Sending the best,

Molly, Zach, & Cisco
